- Over 800 km of line pipes have been received and are currently undergoing coating and insulation at the Nzega Coating Yard in Tanzania. The coated line pipes will be transported to designated storage sites and laid along the 1,443-kilometre heat-traced crude oil pipeline route.
- 9 trucks loaded with the first batch of coated line pipes for EACOP have been delivered in Uganda, Kyotera District at the Main Camp and Pipe Yard (MCPY4).
- Civil works are well underway in various project sites, including pumping stations, main camps, pipe yards, and storage facilities along the route. Plus, the Nzega Coating Plant is now fully operational.
- 100% of the 80MW of electricity requirement for EACOP on the Ugandan side will be from renewable sources, powered by solar and hydro power.
- 97% of PAPs in Uganda have been compensated (3,623 out of 3,660), while in Tanzania, it stands at 99% (9,823 out of 9,898) as of October 2024.
- All 177 primary affected residents in Uganda have received full compensation and newly constructed homes, in line with IFC’s international best practices. The remaining 3% of PAPs are part of 37 cases under compulsory acquisition due to untraceable owners, land disputes, or legal issues.
