  • 95% completion of Kabalega International Airport. Commissioning expected in the 3rd quarter of 2025.
  •  Construction of the 240 MW substation and the underground high voltage line has commenced. Commissioning is expected in 4th quarter 2025.
  • UNOC together with SBI are finalising a proposal for the KIP infrastructure development under Phase 1. This includes; 40 km of paved road inside KIP, Wastewater reticulation including construction of a wastewater treatment plan, medium to low voltage power substations, IT reticulation system which will include a data centre.
  • UNOC has received a certificate of approval for regional strategic ESIA for KIP. Each project in KIP will have to get a project specific ESIA which will fit within the strategic ESIA. The implication is that the project specific ESIAs will be much simplified since the strategic ESIA already covers a lot of ground.
